Two-day comprehensive workshop for practitioners who are interested in gaining insight into creating a complimentary practice

 

“Refining Ourselves as Instruments of Healing: Tips for a Complementary Practice. 
  Instructor:   Maggie McKivergin, RN, MS,CNS,HNC
                       1995 National Holistic Nurse of the Year
    Cost: $350 per attendee
  
Over the course of the two days, Maggie will be instructing practitioners in the holistic care of the person throughout the spectrum of life, using a complement of modalities to help individuals reach their highest level of health. 
By the end of the seminar the practitioner should be able to:
  • Identify a personal philosophy of caring for others through the individualized presence they offer;
  • Practice ways in which to center as an instrument of healing;
  • Understand the dynamics of energy flow through the human system and how that can contribute to health or disease;
  • Learn techniques of the holistic assessment of a person;
  • Perform an extensive intake interview to include the assessment of the general
·         systems of the body from a Chinese meridian perspective;
  • Review major systems of the body and understand the importance of the structure, function and inter-relatedness of the systems;
  • Create a custom library to assist in scanning imbalances of each patient;
  • Identify the dynamic of creating an individualized plan of care which incorporates complementary modalities for each person;
  • Assist clients in creating a step-by-step plan for their health;
  • Relate clinical pathways to the treatment of specific diseases;
  • Learn to evaluate measures of health and well-being related to each patient;
  • Identify important aspects of setting up a private practice;
 
About the Instructor:
Maggie has been a holistic practitioner for 36 years and a BioMeridian Practitioner since 1996.  In 1990, she graduated from the master’s program in nursing at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio where she specialized in women’s health and holistic healing. She was honored by Sigma Theta Tau as the most outstanding graduate student for her research in women’s healing.
In 1995, Maggie received the award as National Holistic Nurse of the Year for her diverse contributions to the field of Holistic Nursing. She was the past executive director of the American Holistic Nurses’ Association returning to Charleston, WV in 1998 to help create and direct the Center for Alternative Healing which was sponsored by the Charleston Area Medical Center until 2001. Maggie is currently an author, teacher, consultant in holistic care, and serves as a hospice nurse for HomeReach Hospice in Columbus. Ohio.
 
Registration:  The cost of the workshop is $350. In order for to attend practitioners must have owned and been testing with their BioMeridian device for more than 6 months. This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the Ohio Nurses Association “OBN-001-91”, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.  Approval valid through November 2012. Assigned ONA #14310. This has been approved for 13 contact hours. All practitioners are welcome.
