Interbase Reported Problem #104

Problem Description: When attempting to open the BioMeridian software a user receives the error “Interbase Reported Problem #104”.

Why: This error is caused by a conflict with Interbase or Borland

Steps to Resolution: The first step to correct this problem is uninstalling Interbase or Borland to do this:

  • Shut down interbase if it is running – see article (Turning Interbase on and off)
  • Open My Computer – C Drive – Program Files
  • Delete the folder Interbase
  • Delete the folder Borland
  • Empty the recycle bin
  • Start the software installation
  • Select – Expert Single Upgrade Options
  • Select – Install Interbase and BDE only
  • Complete the installation – restart the computer
  • If this does not correct the problem run through a full software uninstall

Additional Suggestions: Maintain a backup copy of your database and avoid installing third party applications on your computer.
